Fewer women CEOs

In what some are calling an unsettling trend, there are just a handful of women CEOs of public companies in the Bay Area, fewer women received venture capital funding in 2007 than any year in the past decade, and there are only 13 women CEOs each at Fortune 500 companies and California’s largest 400 public companies….
The lack of women has prompted groups that both support women executives and fund them to ask questions about why women seem to be backsliding from the top ranks from startups through the Fortune 500.
