Tues. March 9th, 9am, K.C. Anderson, Career Coach

Why bother with having a personal brand in your career or job search?

Your brand is a clear expression in words and stories about the value you uniquely bring in knowledge, experience and character traits. It keeps you from wandering off when discussing your background. A personal brand gives you a framework to answer the question, “Why should we hire you?” It provides a consistent thread to use for all the times you will need to talk or write about yourself in a resume, cover letter, performance review, interview or professional networking site profile.

In this program, Career Coach K.C. Anderson will share her expertise to help you structure a lucid, resonating personal brand tailored from your best personal traits. The effort you invest in identifying this unique value proposition will be well rewarded, as a well crafted brand will help you be remembered
long after that interview or networking meeting.

Zeke Camusio, internet marketing specialist, list his top ten online collaboration tools. Taken from Linked IN: Top 10 Free Collaboration Tools

I travel a lot and so do my partners and employees. We often find ourselves working very far away from each other and we need tools to work just like if we were in the same room. These are my 10 favorite free (or almost free) collaboration tools.

Skype - http://www.skype.com/
Skype allows you to talk to people all over the world for free. It also offers chat, video chat and you can also share your screen with other people.

BaseCamp - http://basecamphq.com/
If you’re looking for a tool to manage your projects, BaseCamp is by far the best option. Create to-do lists, milestones, projects, upload files, assign tasks to people, control the progress of your project and communicate with other team members.

Twiddla - http://www.twiddla.com/
Think of Twiddla as a whiteboard that several people can see at the same time. It’s great to explain ideas, draw arrows, call-outs, etc.

Google Docs - http://docs.google.com/
This Google tool allows you to share documents with your team. Just put them in a folder everybody can access and you can all edit the same documents.

Mint - http://www.mint.com/
This is a great money-management tool and it’s free.

LogMeIn - https://secure.logmein.com/
Do you need to remotely control a computer? This is a great tool for it. You can use your partner’s computer from Seattle if you’re in New York. You can leave your computer at home and access it from any other computer in the world.

Google Calendar - https://www.google.com/calendar
Keep all your events and meetings organized with this tool from Google. The best part is that you and your team can share the same calendar so you can all see what everyone else is up to and when they all have some free time to meet.

BlueTie - http://bluetie.com/
This application isn’t free, but it’s only $5/month, so it’s almost free. BlueTie is a great tool to manage emails and keep your contacts organized. You can share email messages and contacts with your team. BlueTie has a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) engine built-in that I really like.

PamFax - http://www.pamfax.biz/
Send and receive faxes for very cheap from your own computer. You can send documents (PDF, DOC, etc.). When you receive a fax, you’ll get the pages as email attachments that you can print if you want. Having fax has never been so cheap.

EchoSign - http://www.echosign.com/
Isn’t it annoying when you have to print out an agreement, sign it, fax it, have the other person sign it and fax it back to you? There’s a better option: EchoSign. This cool tool allows you to sign documents online in just a few seconds.

The Feminine Super Power of Pause
with Christine Arylo

When: January 12th, 2010
Where: TBD, San Francisco
Cost: $20 per person, $15 for members

You worked hard this year!

As a strong, powerful woman who achieves a lot in a year’s time, chances are that you worked really hard this past year to make your dreams realities. Don’t you deserve to take a moment to reflect on all you’ve done, learned and experienced before going full steam ahead into 2010 and a new set of goals and desires?

Not only do you deserve it, taking a pause to reflect on your past year is smart. Alice Walker, Pulitzer Prize winning author, says that the wisdom is in the Pause. And she’s right. If you want to spend your time, resources and energy in 2010 on what is truly most important to you, without exhausting yourself to ‘get it done’, you have to slow down long enough to let your wisdom shine through.

Attend an interactive, year-launching workshop led by Christine Arylo, recovering doing addict and inspirational catalyst for women, which will help you to properly close out 2009 and kick-off this New Year differently. Activate your feminine super power of Pause!

Christine will take us through a process called the Wheel of Reflection and teach about the Power of Pause so that 2010 will be the year we:
- Start the new year (and every year from now on) with intentions that stick and that matter vs. resolutions that get forgotten or goals that create stress
- Use all the hard work we did in ‘09 to fuel our dreams into reality in 2010
- Get more done every day by doing less, just by refocusing 10 minutes of our day

You can learn more about the Feminine Super Power of Pause and Christine Arylo at www.daretoliveyou.com
